Reflecting on this years trends
No detail was too small for our styling on this bridal shoot
We are super proud to work with the UK Academy Of Wedding And Event Planning, mentoring and supporting their students as part of our role on the advisory board. (Check out the amazing end of year offer for anyone looking to study and launch their own wedding and event business, find out more details here: UKAWEP Pre Christmas sale) And as we look towards a New Year, contributing once again to the International Wedding Trend Report with our predictions for wedding trends in 2016 we thought it the perfect time to revisit our thoughts on the 2015 trends.
Our 2015 couples initially embarked on their wedding planning journey with either a clear contemporary vision of their design and styling, or an opulent traditional feel. Crisp white with soft tones of barely there pink did remain a firm favourite at the initial planning and styling consultations. However as wedding styling research took in inspiration from magazines, blogs and Pinterest, excitement built, and wedding fever took hold with styles adapted to include many elements not previously considered.

Key Design details For Styling & Décor
We saw increasing demand for the contemporary glazed marquee and the popularity of lounge furniture which will no doubt continue. Clients with a keen eye for design led pieces in their homes looked to bring these influences in to their wedding styling. And weddings were increasingly being planned over two or three days, giving rise to cocktail lounges and chill out areas. It was a fabulous opportunity to add alternative styling to the event, designing separate areas for guests to relax.
Chandeliers, floral swags, and draping added height and drama to the overall styling, and it was one of the many ways to create a theme and illustrate the couples story. From enchanted forest to a glamorous and elegant affair; hanging installations, and draped canopies were huge throughout 2015. Soft chiffon draping with lush green foliage garlands added lavish and romantic detailing. Whilst tall statement trees hung with ribbons, crystals and flowers brought the outside in and created scale. A single statement tree designed as a focal point for guests was a perfect escort table centrepiece and wishing tree.

As a huge advocate of signage, ensuring guests are confident and comfortable throughout the day is a priority and we loved seeing the increase in requests for mirrored and illuminated signs. From clear LED illuminated posters to neon arrows. It has all been a fun and cool way to style events whilst keeping guests informed. Personal statements, poems, quotes, and declarations of love were emerging early in the year, with the guys keen to become more involved with adding their own details. Lettering as a backdrop in the woodland, on the lawn, or behind the top table made for great images. Love, Forever, All Because Two People Fell In Love, and Soul Mate remained popular with our clients throughout the year.
Script lettering and calligraphy details remain on trend going in to 2016
